General Information

The New York Artists Guild International Music Competition is a prestigious platform dedicated to fostering the growth of young, exceptionally talented musicians from around the world. This competition not only provides a stage for emerging artists to showcase their skills but also offers vital support through mentorship, scholarships, and performance opportunities. By nurturing the next generation of classical musicians, the competition aims to inspire creativity, discipline, and a deep appreciation for the arts, ensuring that these young talents have the resources and exposure they need to flourish in their musical careers.

The New York Artists Guild International Music Competition is held annually for age 5 to 32 years old students

The competition is open to all instrumentalists, vocalists, chamber musicians and composers of all nationalities.

Audition Requirments

  • Students may apply the competition more than once  (performing on different instruments or as vocalists, or as a member on ensemble)

  • To apply the competition, all applicants must submit the video recording.

    • The recording must contain the applicant's name and the complete title of the piece.

    • The recording must be played in one continuous stream without edits or alterations.

    • The performer's entire body (head to toe) should be clearly visible: for pianist, pedal must be in the camera frame.

    • All recordings must be performed with an accompanist unless your music is written to be Unaccompanied.

    • The performance must be played from memory except the music for the ensembles.

    • No Repeats. 

    • The recording should be recorded within Six months.

    • The recording must NOT be EDITED.

    • Performers and accompanists should be dressed professionally. Casual attire/sportswear is not permitted.

    • The video recordings should be a fair representation of the applicant's abilities. We encourage High-quality professional video recording, but not required. 

    • The recording must be sent to either Youtube Link or Google Drive Share.

  • Applicants must select One Composition from the following musical periods.

    • Baroque​

    • Classical

    • Romantic

    • Contemporary

   (One movement of Sonata, Sonatina or Concerto, one movement from Partita, Suite, or any ordered set piece is           considered as one piece)

  • Any Simplified editions, arrangements and method books won't be accepted.

  • Judges' decisions are final and cannot be appealed. 

  • All the winners will be announced on NYAG website on Monday May 5, 2025.
